Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru in the 2025 Vintage

At the foot of the rocks of Solutré and Vergisson, at the southern tip of the Mâconnais, Pouilly-Fuissé is pure Chardonnay, shaped by limestone and clay-limestone. Recognised on 11 September 1936, the appellation covers Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, Vergisson and Chaintré. Since the 2020 vintage, 22 climats have been classified Premier Cru: they carry the mineral tension that balances breadth and structure.

Food pairing

Lobster or spiny lobster, poultry in cream sauce, seafood, steamed fish, grilled white meat, goat's cheese. Serve at 11–13 °C.

Winemaker

David Fagot

David Fagot settled in Fuissé in 2001, outside any family estate, and stands among the Mâconnais winemakers most devoted to the forces of nature.

Across 6.5 hectares, he tends the white appellations of the Mâconnais, from Mâcon-Villages and Saint-Véran to Pouilly-Fuissé and its Premier Cru, whose 22 climats have been classified since the 2020 vintage. His vines grow amid a landscape defined by great limestone cliffs, where Chardonnay finds its fullest expression of flavour and texture. In the vineyard, David Fagot practises phytotherapy using plant extracts; in the cellar, his work follows the lunar calendar.

David is the most engaging winemaker we have met. He is captivated by the forces of nature and works entirely in harmony with them. This deep conviction shows through in his “wines of awakening,” each said to carry its own energy and to convey the richness of the Universe. It can even be read on the labels, designed for each appellation's own character, gaining in intensity and precision from Village to Premier Cru.
