David Fagot

David is the most congenial winemaker I have met so far. He is obsessed with the forces of nature and works in complete harmony with them. This deep belief is reflected in his wines, which are characterized by very different energies. It becomes very clear not only in the glass but also on the labels: they gain in intensity and precision from Village to Premier Cru.

David Fagot has been cultivating about 7 hectares in the heart of the Mâconnais since 2001, specifically in Fuissé, Solutré, and Prissé. He works close to nature, largely eschewing chemicals and relying on meticulous hand-harvesting to preserve the typicity of his Chardonnay grapes. In the cellar, he uses natural yeasts and allows the wines to mature for a long time on their fine lees, which adds depth and texture. His Pouilly-Fuissé and Mâcon wines are known for their clear minerality, delicate fruit, and elegant, structured balance.

David Fagot's vineyards are situated on calcareous and marl-rich slopes in Fuissé, Solutré, and Prissé. These soils impart the wines with their typical minerality and freshness. Each parcel is managed individually to optimally express the unique characteristics of the terroir.
