Aline Beauné runs her own domaine in Montagny-lès-Buxy, in the Côte Chalonnaise, which she founded in 2018 once the contract tying the family vines to the cooperative had ended.
Before that, she spent several years working in Burgundy's vineyards, notably at Château de la Crée in Santenay. The white wines come exclusively from the domaine's own vines, Chardonnay and Aligoté, while the reds are made from bought grapes sourced from long-standing growers. The Montagny appellation draws in particular on two distinct plots: Rougeriaux, the highest point of the appellation on marl soil, and a lower plot on clay-limestone with pebbles.
Aline Beauné describes her approach as one of observation and patience in the vineyard, followed by a measured, careful hand with the wines. At Sélection Boudras, we value this attention to place and the restraint that comes through in each of her wines.
