Chassagne-Montrachet "Morgeot" 2016 vintage

A red that's hard to come by: in Chassagne-Montrachet, at the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune, Chardonnay vines cover most of the landscape. A few plots are still given over to Pinot Noir, which shows real personality here. One of them is the Premier Cru "Morgeot", which draws its backbone and density from a subsoil of clay and limestone.

Madame Veuve Point

Madame Veuve Point has stood since 1904 for Burgundian wines of tradition, crafted in Beaune with care, experience and delicacy.

Founded by Jeanne-Marie Point, the house is now run by Géraldine Point, a direct descendant of its founder. The wines are drawn from 35 appellations across Burgundy, from Chablis to Pouilly-Fuissé for the Chardonnays, and from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte de Beaune for the Pinot Noirs, blending family-owned plots with partnerships with growers.

The whites are pressed as whole clusters, the reds destemmed and cold-macerated. The resulting wines are marked by elegance, balance and a clearly defined origin.
