Mark Haisma, a winemaker of Australian origin, settled in Burgundy in 2007 and steadily built his own path in Gevrey-Chambertin.
He started as a micro-négociant, renting space in the cellar of his friend Philippe Naigeon. The success of his wines soon allowed him to acquire two hectares of vines in Gevrey and plant two more in the Mâconnais; he now also has his own cellar in Gilly-lès-Cîteaux. His wines are made across appellations of the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Mâconnais, complemented by vinification in Cornas, in the northern Rhône valley.
Rather than power or firm structure, Mark Haisma favours freshness and pure fruit expression. Our selection includes ten of his wines, among them Pernand-Vergelesses, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos de Vougeot and Morey-Saint-Denis: each one tells the story of its place.
