Lalande-de-Pomerol, Vintage 2022

Lying just north of Pomerol, Lalande-de-Pomerol carries forward the generous character of the Libournais on Bordeaux's right bank. Merlot dominates here, complemented by cabernet franc, cabernet-sauvignon and occasionally cot, across the communes of Lalande-de-Pomerol and Néac. Gravel soils alongside clay-limestone terrain, notably around Néac, yield exclusively red wines of deep ruby or garnet hue, marked by aromas of red and black berry fruit. The appellation was recognized in 1936.

Food pairing

Roast lamb, duck breast, grilled red meats, semi-hard cheeses.

Chateau Le Jard

Château Le Jard lies in the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation, on the right bank of the Libournais near Bordeaux, owned by the Micheau-Maillou family.

The Micheau-Maillou family, today represented by Michel and Monique, owns several vineyards in the Libournais, including Vieille Église in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Chatain Pineau and Le Jard in Lalande-de-Pomerol. The estate is run as a Groupement Foncier Agricole, the GFA Chatain Micheau-Maillou, directed by Michel Micheau-Maillou.

Château Le Jard produces a red Lalande-de-Pomerol, an expression of this right-bank terroir. In our selection, we value this wine for the coherence of a family estate watching over several sites of the Libournais.
