The "Clos Saint Jean" vineyard, 2024 vintage

Best known for its whites, Chassagne-Montrachet also produces red wines from pinot noir, marked by notes of cherry, sometimes verging on kirsch. The appellation lies at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune, spanning the villages of Chassagne-Montrachet and Remigny, at altitudes between 220 and 325 metres, where steep Rauracian slopes give way to a Callovian bank of Argovian marls and, further down, Bathonian limestone. The appellation was officially recognised by the decree of 31 July 1937.

Food pairing

Roast poultry, duck breast, veal with mushrooms, semi-hard cheeses.

Domaine Bachelet-Ramonet

Domaine Bachelet-Ramonet, in Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune, embodies four generations of winegrowers and a rather classic style.

This family estate was born in 1977, when the death of Claude Ramonet led his daughter to combine her inheritance with that of Georges Bachelet. Since 1984, Alain Bonnefoy and Marie-Paule have run the domaine together.

Across 13 hectares spread between Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet, the domaine produces Regional, Village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines, with Bâtard-Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet among its flagship cuvées. The soils are farmed according to lutte raisonnée principles.

At Sélection Boudras, we appreciate these wines, where tradition and precision meet, each one telling the story of its place.
