Gevrey-Chambertin in the 2009 Vintage

At the gateway to the Côte de Nuits, where the slopes climb towards their famous Grands Crus, Gevrey-Chambertin yields reds of depth and structure from Pinot Noir alone. The appellation covers the communes of Gevrey-Chambertin and Brochon, with around 360 hectares classified at village level, and knows only red wine. A Burgundy of firm frame, among the great names of the Côte.

Maison Stephane Brocard

Maison Stéphane Brocard is a Burgundy négociant founded in 2007 by Stéphane Brocard, who comes from the Chablis area, with a first vintage that same year.

From the south of Dijon he selects his wines across some ten Burgundy appellations, from Petit Chablis to Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny, as far as Meursault and Pommard, where he also owns vines. He works year after year with the same growers and the same parcels.

He sums up his style in four words: purity, fruit, freshness and authenticity. Part of his range carries the name Closerie des Alisiers.
