Chiroubles “Cercillons” in the 2025 Vintage

High in the hills of Beaujolais, on light granite sands, the vines of Chiroubles sit higher than those of any other cru: Gamay gains perfume and freshness here, an airy, almost dancing style. The appellation is one of the ten crus of Beaujolais and produces red wine only. The “Cercillons” cuvée brings that spirit of altitude to the glass, bright, lively and clear in its fruit.

Benjamin Passot

Benjamin Passot, a Burgundian by birth, founded his own estate in Beaujolais in 2017 and makes wines from five great crus from his base in Vauxrenard.

Before settling in the granite hills, he spent several years working the terroirs of Vosne-Romanée. That Burgundian schooling shapes his view of Gamay: each cuvée bears the name of its place.

His wines come from Juliénas, Chénas, Moulin-à-Vent, Morgon and Chiroubles, from sites such as “Vaux” in Juliénas or “Au Bois Retour” in Chénas: a young estate that reads Beaujolais with Burgundian precision.
