Pommard in the 2011 Vintage

Power and structure before finesse: Pommard stands as one of the sturdiest reds of the Côte de Beaune. This communal appellation covers part of the village of Pommard, in the Côte-d'Or, and is devoted exclusively to red wines made from pinot noir. Recognised as an AOC by decree on 11 September 1936, it has long been associated with a firm, robust character that sets it apart among its Burgundian neighbours.

Food pairing

Bœuf bourguignon, game, red meats in sauce, aged cheeses (Époisses, Langres).

Winemaker

Chateau de Pommard

Château de Pommard, founded in 1726, is one of the oldest estates of the Côte de Beaune, set in the heart of the Pommard appellation.

Its Clos Marey-Monge, a walled vineyard of 20 hectares, forms the historic core of the property. Since 2014, the estate has been led by American entrepreneur Michael Baum, and the vineyard is now certified organic and biodynamic.

Each wine speaks of its origin: Pommards that are powerful, elegant, and deeply marked by terroir. At Sélection Boudras, we value this blend of tradition and precision.
