Nicolas Barbou founded his own estate in Oisly, in the Touraine, in 2019, crafting wines with a frank, unadorned style that speaks directly of the terroir.
The son of Dominique and Véronique Barbou, who run the Domaine des Corbillières, he comes from a family of winegrowers established in the Touraine for three generations. He trained with Boisson-Vadot and then with Jean-Yves Bizot in Burgundy, and also gained experience in New Zealand.
His own domaine, distinct from his parents', is dedicated to the Touraine-Oisly appellation, mainly Sauvignon Blanc alongside Gamay. Work in the vineyard follows an attentive, hands-off approach, with limited intervention.
At Sélection Boudras, we appreciate the purity and clarity of these wines, a direct expression of Touraine terroir from a young, meticulous winegrower.
