In Aniane, in the Languedoc, Mas de Daumas Gassac stands for uncompromising quality, natural elegance and absolute individuality.
In 1970, Véronique and Aimé Guibert discovered an abandoned mas and mill in the Gassac valley. The following year, Professor Henri Enjalbert identified a soil of glacial scree comparable to Burgundy's finest terroirs, and advised planting unclonded Cabernet-Sauvignon vines sourced from great Bordeaux estates. The first vintage was produced in 1978, guided remotely by oenologist Émile Peynaud. Since the 2000s, the next generation of the Guibert family has run the estate.
The vines grow in small clearings within the garrigue forest, preserving the valley's wild landscape. No chemical fertilisers or synthetic products are used, only compost from Larzac sheep manure; vinification follows a traditional approach. The wines we offer, under the IGP Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and Terrasses du Larzac, reflect this philosophy of respect for the terroir and its natural balance.
