Domaine Martin-Dufour

Domaine Jean-Pierre Maldant

Domaine Jean-Pierre Maldant stands for classic, precise Burgundy from the foot of the Corton hill in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. The family winery in Ladoix-Serrigny is run by the fifth generation and combines over 125 years of experience with a calm, uncompromising philosophy of quality. Since 2010, Pierre-François Maldant has been responsible for vinification and consistently continues his father's stylistic path.

At Sélection Boudras, we value Domaine Jean-Pierre Maldant for its authentic interpretations of the Corton terroir, which combine power and elegance in perfect balance.

About Domaine Jean-Pierre Maldant

About Domaine Jean-Pierre Maldant

The winery covers around 10 hectares of vineyards, spread across small, carefully selected plots in the municipalities of Ladoix-Serrigny, Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chorey-lès-Beaune. The focus is on low yields, exclusively manual harvesting, and precise work in the vineyard to preserve the natural expressiveness of the grapes. In the cellar, the winery employs classic Burgundian vinification with gentle extraction, controlled use of wood, and aging in oak barrels for 12 to 14 months. The goal is to produce structured, long-lived wines with clarity, balance, and finesse.

Terroir & Location

Terroir & Location

The vineyards are located around the Corton hill – many parcels are only one kilometer from the winery. The lime and marl-rich soils of the Côte de Beaune produce Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with great aromatic depth, fine minerality, and precise acidity. Each parcel shows its own character: In Les Maréchaudes, the soils are shallow and resemble the lower part of Corton-Bressandes; in Les Valozières, deeper soil is found on the middle slope; and the Grand Cru sites on the slope sometimes have only 20 cm of topsoil over the limestone. Precisely these differences are vinified separately and make the unique characteristics of soil, exposure, and microclimate clearly visible in the wine – right down to the three Grand Crus of the house: Corton-Charlemagne, Corton-Maréchaudes, and Corton-Les Grandes Lolières.

Grape Varieties & Styles

The focus is on Pinot Noir, which accounts for around 85% of production. The white wines are made from Chardonnay and – in classic Burgundy style – from Pinot Blanc. The red wines display aromas of red and dark berries, fine spices, and earthy nuances. On the palate, they are structured, precise, and long-lasting. The white wines present themselves as fresh, mineral, and elegant, with a clear Burgundian signature.

Sustainability & Vineyard Management

Sustainability & Vineyard Management

Work in the vineyard is carried out responsibly and with minimal intervention. Plant protection products are used sparingly, and many steps – from canopy management to harvesting – are done manually. The long-term preservation of healthy soils and vines is paramount. This sustainable approach forms the foundation for wines with depth, tension, and unmistakable origin.
